City San Francisco State California [CA] Country United States [US] Job Title Equity Research Intern Reference Code 13-82 Department Equity Research Description The Equity Research Intern program offers a summer internship for undergraduates between their junior and senior years who are interested in equity research. Equity Research Interns will work with a research analyst on a day-to-day basis and typically will assist in the creation of a research report. Outstanding performers may be offered a position as a Junior Research Associate after graduation. Responsibilities Assist analysts and associates researching assigned industries with an emphasis on report production. Perform information gathering, financial analysis, and model creation; create charts/graphs/tables and appendices; and coordinate overall report production. Attend trade shows, conduct surveys, monitor competitive pricing, etc. Make field trips and prepare records and files to develop and maintain sources of information to assist in analysis activities. Maintain databases for the department by formatting and submitting research information, estimates, and ratings. Answer inquiries from customers, personnel of the firm, and the general public regarding individual securities or industry groups. Participate in other projects as requested by management. Qualifications Completed the equivalent of a junior year of a bachelor’s degree by the time of the internship is required; business or economics major emphasis preferred Internship or prior work experience in biotech and/or financial services industry is helpful Proven record in university studies required with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) Delivers clear, effective communication and takes responsibility for understanding others Able to adapt to new tasks with little notice Able to exercise independent judgment Commits to satisfying internal and external customers General understanding of accounting and finance Proven ability to work in a team environment
