The Professional intern will be responsible for providing financial analysis and pricing strategy for various teams within the Walt Disney Parks & Resorts Pricing department including Tickets, Resorts, Food & Beverage, Merchandise, etc. Intern assignments include, but are not limited to: Building complex financial spreadsheet models/analysis to drive pricing decisions for multiple lines of business at both the Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts. Analyzing large quantities of historical data to better understand guest behavior by identifying trends, patterns, and irregularities in consumer transactions. Developing competitive research and conducting industry benchmarks to provide background information for the entire Pricing department. Identifying industry practices and academic theory in economics, finance, revenue management, and marketing disciplines to advance the department’s analysis. Preparing weekly and monthly reporting in regards to sales and booking data. Interns will work within multi-disciplinary project teams and serve as an individual contributor for core pricing projects that may require input from multiple functional areas, such as Operations, Sales, Marketing, Finance, etc. Basic Qualifications These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position: Familiarity with Excel, Word and PowerPoint Strong written and communication skills Interest in pursuing an analytical career path Finance, Revenue Management, Statistics, Math, Economics, Accounting or similar background Preferred Qualifications Database experience (i.e. Microsoft Access, Business Objects) General knowledge or experience in one of the following industries: Merchandise Retail, Hotels/Resorts, Food & Beverage; Travel and Tourism College Program or Professional Internship Alumni Additional Information Internship Eligibility: Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs Must possess unrestricted work authorization Must provide full work availability Must provide own transportation to/from work Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months) Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are June 2012 through January 2013. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship. Housing: A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
