PROGRAM OVERVIEW The Student Intern Program at Union Bank has a reputation for providing college students with the opportunity to participate in meaningful projects that contribute to the overall business unit objectives. In addition to the assigned projects, Interns are given the opportunity to participate in activities that encourage networking with peers, managers, and bank employees. The paid intern positions are full-time (40 hours/week during regular business hours) during the summer. The length of the internship is 12 weeks and can extend beyond that time depending on business needs, project requirements, and intern availability. POSITION OVERVIEW This internship is with the Pacific Northwest Community Banking team in Everett, WA. The PNW Community Banking team is responsible for all aspects of the retail branch network in the Pacific Northwest. This includes the oversight, management, and the strategic implementation and coordination of all activities for the 51 branches in Washington and Oregon. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Provide creative input and recommendations on our overall Pacific Northwest Marketing Assist with the management of the Marketing budget at the division and branch level Provide support for additional projects and initiatives of the PNW Community Banking leadership team Collateral distribution Event coordination Performance tracking reports Qualifications POSITION QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for a motivated and energetic continuing undergraduate student in Junior or Senior standing or first year graduate student. In addition to your academic success, you should have the following qualifications: Strong interpersonal, analytical, and writing skills Excellent organization and time management skills with attention to detail Self-starter with the ability to synthesize ambiguous information Proficient computer skills including internet research and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) Verbal/written communication skills are extremely important in this position and you must be able to conduct a professional dialogue clearly and concisely Ability to work equally well on self-managed or team-oriented projects You MUST be able to furnish proof of citizenship, U.S. residency, or authorization to work full-time for any employer APPLICATION, INTERVIEW, AND HIRING TIMELINE Interviews and candidate selection will begin in March 2012 Final intern selection and offers will conclude in April 2012 All candidates will receive automated confirmation after applying and final application status by April 30th Internships will begin May 14 (for semester schools) or June 11 (for quarter schools) Union Bank is committed to leveraging the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of our workforce to create opportunities for our people and our business.
