Serve as Part-time Athletic Trainer or Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer to a highly competitive 23-sport Division II Intercollegiate Athletic Program. See our website: http://www.ucsdtritons.com . Work in a progressive athletic training room environment that includes, but not limited to: functional assessment procedures, Graston Technique, and Kinesio Taping. Supervise the prevention, evaluation, treatment and care of athletic injuries. Make injury referrals to appropriate medical personnel including team physicians, chiropractor, and acupuncturists. Recondition and rehabilitate student-athletes through the use of appropriate physical agents and therapeutic devices. Inform coaches regularly on the status of injured athletes. Assist in the operation of the athletic training facilities. Be an Approved Clinical Instructor for athletic training students from an Athletic Training Education Program. Help supervise other athletic training interns. Maintain records and files on all aspects of the athletic training operation. Will travel with assigned teams and others as directed by the Head Athletic Trainer. NOTES: Additional Salary Information: Summer camps available, Additional competitive pay for optional events on campus throughout the year, Membership dues paid Requirements • Currently NATABOC-certified as a member in good standing or certification eligible. • Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications. • Have knowledge of the competencies and domains of athletic training and the methods and aids associated with the prevention, evaluation, care and treatment of athletic injuries. • Ability to use physical agents and modalities in the care and treatment of injuries. • Have good interpersonal and administrative skills. • Demonstrate clear and effective oral and written communication abilities.
