Requirements: Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a computer forensics intern with a passion for cyber security, forensic analysis, reverse engineering, and software development. You will be a part of a strong team of cyber security experts and engineers addressing existing and emerging forensic challenges. Examples of responsibilities include: researching forensic trends, technologies, and techniques; maintaining a hardware/software laboratory; and assisting the SAIC cyber forensics team in conducting validation testing and vulnerability assessments. Location: The work location will be in the Northern Virginia area (Tysons Corner). Education: The candidate must currently be pursuing a degree in a related field (e.g., Cyber Forensics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Security and Management), have completed at least two years of an undergraduate curriculum, and maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA. Clearance: An existing U.S. Government security clearance is highly desired but not required. The candidate must be a U.S. Citizen. On employment, the candidate must be willing to be submitted for a TS/SCI security clearance with a full-scope polygraph. Once the clearance is granted, the candidate must be willing to maintain the clearance. Required Skills: Coursework exposure in one or more areas of cyber forensics (e.g., forensic science, malware analysis, reverse engineering, information systems, information security, network engineering, systems administration, file systems, operating system design, mobile and portable devices, communication protocols, encryption, and databases) is required. Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server environments, Solaris, Linux, or EnCase. Software development skills (e.g., C/C++, Python, Perl, Unix scripting) are desirable. As the internship includes regular team meetings and presentations to management, the successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills. Most importantly, an entrepreneurial, motivated, self-starter attitude is required.
