Paid intern sought for the Investor Relations practice at Grayling -- intern will gain wide exposure to financial investor relations for those interested in exploring the financial investor relations agency environment. Investor Relations is a specialized branch of public relations. Investor relations promotes transparency and open communications between the management team of publicly listed companies and their stakeholders such as institutional investors, retail investors, journalists. Note this position services corporate issuers and not the buy- and sell side. This position differs from the sales/business development/marketing/reporting teams that are often times called investor relations departments as well on the buy-side at mutual funds and hedge funds who provide a reporting/business development/marketing function between the fund and its clients. This is not an internship where you will be expected to fetch coffee. The role offer in-depth hands on experiences assisting a professional with no less than 10 years experience or more in their field. You will be working for publicly listed clients that are domestic and multinational, both large and small. Investor Relations Internship: -Participate in institutional investor targeting and outreach - Help conduct perception research -Take part in exchange and banks sponsored industry conferences -Assist in event management (including Nasdaq and NYSE bell ceremonies) -Contribute to presentation development -Assist in drafting financial and operational press releases -Ad-hoc financial research We encourage all majors to apply however in general, English Literature, Finance, Economics, International Relations majors generally do best in prior experiences. The reason for this is the position entails strong writing abilities coupled with the desire to learn finance and will at times require translating financial fundamentals into a cohesive "story" that best describes the nature of our clients' work in their respective industries. To do so, requires strong writing abilities, sharp eye for detail and the ability or desire to learn basic finance. Hours will be flexible (though pre-determined in advance). Interns will be expected to provide a test (midterms/finals etc. . .) for when they will need a modified schedule in addition to other holiday/vacation days when they are expected to not be in the office. (Read between the lines: we are flexible and understanding during those times when you need to cram for your exams in between studying, working and partying in NYC! But we do expect you to be responsible and inform us of these times in advance!)
