nternships: Any Internship Summer 2013 Course Credit Internship Program - Human Resources - Atlanta Hawks and Philips Arena (Atlanta, GA) Summer 2013 Course Credit Internship Program Is the professional sports & entertainment industry in your future career path? Here’s your chance to experience it first hand while interning at a dynamic organization. The Atlanta Hawks (NBA) and world-class entertainment venue, Philips Arena, are looking for passionate team players to participate in our Summer 2013 Course Credit Internship Program. This program is designed to give top students real-life experience in the sports and entertainment industry in addition to providing educational and networking opportunities. Educational components include interactive workshops, executive speaker series and job shadow opportunities. PROGRAM GUIDELINES: • We are now accepting applications for the Summer 2013 term (May-August) • Course Credit Internships are open to college students only (junior, senior or graduate level) • Interns must receive academic credit toward graduation – no exceptions (students are responsible for providing documentation confirming academic credit for the internship and verifying that their school offers credit for internships PRIOR to applying) • No financial compensation is available • Interns are responsible for travel and housing arrangements (please research housing costs PRIOR to applying) • Ability to work flexible hours to include nights, weekends and holidays is required • Minimum of 12 weeks participation is required • Full-time and part-time opportunities are available (minimum of 20 hours per week required for part-time) • Interns must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.7 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- CATEGORY: HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT: HUMAN RESOURCES INTERN STATUS: PART-TIME Responsibilities and Duties: Create and update new hire orientation materials Update HR department Intranet information Assist in posting employment opportunities on external career sites Assist in pre-screening of resumes, interview scheduling and conducting reference checks Maintain resume and employee files as needed Prepare for and attend Job/Career Fairs as needed Coordinate the scheduling and logistical arrangements for training programs and Internship Program activities Other administrative duties and projects as assigned Qualifications: Coursework emphasis in Human Resource Management preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office products Excellent organizational and communication skills Must be detail oriented, accurate and reliable Must be able to maintain confidentiality and interact with all levels within organization ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION / REMINDERS: • Full-time internships require availability for a minimum of 35 hours per M-F week and additionally some nights, weekends and holidays • Part-time internships require a minimum of 20 hours per M-F week • Academic course credit is a REQUIREMENT of the program. (This is not a negotiable aspect of the program. Documentation from your educational institution/advisor is required prior to the internship beginning.
