Who We Are at Kapor Center for Social Impact
The Kapor Center for Social Impact works together with Kapor Capital to put on our summer fellowship program called the Kapor Center Tech Fellows, which places undergraduate students and a few Pre-MBA candidates in top Silicon Valley companies in the Kapor Capital portfolio.
The Kapor Center for Social Impact relentlessly pursues creative strategies that will leverage information technology for positive social impact. We primarily work with underrepresented communities, focusing on gap-closing endeavors. We are particularly interested in social impact for communities that have historically been on the periphery of access to opportunity, participation and influence in the United States.
Our sister organization, Kapor Capital, is a seed stage investment firm located in the Oakland. Led by Lotus 1-2-3 Founder Mitchell Kapor, we primarily invest in seed and early stage startups whose success in business generates positive social impact. We are particularly interested in new platforms and in the use of information technology to achieve those goals. Over the years we have invested in numerous start-up companies including InternMatch, Inkling, Uber Cab and Asana.
