Vigilant's training focuses on three main areas: people skills / soft skills including training in leadership skills, conflict resolution, and communication skills; safety education involving how to create a culture of safety and WISHA compliance; and legal issues training such as preventing discrimination and harassment in the workplace and dealing with disciplinary issues. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT INTERN Internship Responsibilities Include: Conduct a market analysis Research concepts and ideas for new classes and assist in writing them Multiple marketing duties including writing and updating materials, outreach, email promos through Constant Contact, etc. for classes and Training Center Co-teach current classes with Vigilant Trainers Utilize social media to post training offerings and generate business Research grant opportunities and speakers bureau opportunities Administrative duties to increase capacity and efficiencies of trainers & department Additional duties for special projects that match intern's interests and skills Skills: Promptness Superior writing skills Marketing skills Exceptional computer skills including strong internet research capabilities Ability to work with diverse groups of people Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task Ability to meet deadlines Some presentation/ teaching skills Understanding of Adult Learning Theory and Training Best Practices Other Requirements: Vigilant is a values-based organization. We expect that you will conduct yourself in an ethical manner with a strong sense of providing superior customer service. Pursuing a degree in Education, Training & Development, Human Resources, or other related field. A graduate student is preferred, but other candidates will be considered Time Commitment: Ideal would be 15+ hours per week; however, Vigilant is willing to work with University requirements Ideal start date: ASAP with an expected commitment through December Possibility of a longer term engagement after December Work hours are between 8am and 5pm Reimbursement: This is a paid internship, at $15 per hour.
