Looking for experience in Television and/or Film Production? Our Production Intern will learn various aspects of production, including the overall production process from on-location and/or soundstage shoots to post-production activities. The Production Intern will also have exposure to a variety of departments/roles such as Facilities Maintenance, Studio Engineering, and administrative work to understand budgets and payroll.  Production Interns at Universal Orlando are responsible for: Assisting with load-in, installation, and maintenance of lighting, camera, audio and video equipment, art, props, ground rigging and sets. Organizing equipment and gear for shoots and camera mounts (may include running cable and setting up signage). Maintaining inventory of technical equipment. Assisting in the coordination of internal departments for production events such as Security, Operations, Photo Services, and Public Relations. Interacting with park guests to answer questions, maintain crowd control, and obtain production releases signed by guests appearing on camera. Escorting production vehicles into park as needed and may operate vehicles to shuttle talent and crew. Understanding and actively participating in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established Universal Orlando policies, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities. Performing other duties as assigned. To perform the role of a Production Intern successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Must be actively enrolled for the Summer 2012 semester as a college Sophomore or Junior. Must be pursuing a degree in Film or Television Production. Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA required. Must have ability to maintain confidentiality. Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with non-linear digitizing, computer operation, and professional camera operation preferred. Valid Florida Driver's License preferred. Consistent attendance is required - must be willing to work all shifts and be fully available to work during Monday – Sunday; minimum of 20 hours per week; Must be available to work starting June 2012 thru the end of September 2012. The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of the Production Intern job. To fully understand this industry, interns will be expected to work a varying schedule, which may include overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is exposed to outdoor weather conditions and wet, humid conditions (non-weather). While performing the duties of this job, the individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to stand; walk; talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; climb or balance; sit; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), Distance Vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), Color Vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), Depth Perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), Ability to Adjust Focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
