About TerraCycle: TerraCycle is a global leader in recycling and upcycling—turning difficult-to-recycle waste into affordable eco-friendly products. As a rapidly growing company with expanding logistics and operations, TerraCycle’s Operations Department is seeking motivated interns to join our dynamic team in our main office in Trenton, NJ, and become involved in a full range of projects that best represent the inner workings and operations. About the Internship: We offer two types of Internship Programs: Year-round Internship and Summer Internship. The latter will run for 10 weeks and will allow each intern to gain valuable hands-on experience within the following areas that make up the department (additional information can be found on www.terracycle.com/careers): Order-to-Cash Process Learn the entire process of how revenue is generated and collected in the company, from delivery of services, recording of revenue, invoicing and application of collections. Understand the key rules of revenue recognition and its complexities and how to better accelerate collections. You will be working very closely with our Brigades and Material Sales teams Purchase Order-to-Pay Process Gain experience in the day to day operation of a world class business management system. Learn how we use SAP to improve the efficiency of the entire business. Work closely with Logistic managers to make sure we properly pay our vendors General Ledger Process Experience the consolidation complexities of a company operating in over 20 countries and under than five currencies. Follow the migration from multi-systems to an enterprise wide system application! Financial Planning and Analysis Help us implement the first centralized web-based planning system. We will be moving from complex spreadsheet based process to a powerful tool guaranteeing transparency and clarity of data and addressing the “version control” issues of Excel-based templates! Special Projects Work on the many up-and-coming projects that TerraCycle has yet to reveal to the public. Feel free to implement ideas you may have to improve the business! Because we strongly believe the value of an internship will reflect the level of commitment and time vested by the individual, the length of the internship can be customized and the department does not set minimum hours of work that interns must meet each week (however, student interns seeking college credit must adhere to their educational institution’s internship requirements). The Finance Department will offer college credit and recommendations upon successful completion of the internship. The internship is unpaid but daily catered lunches will be provided. Other benefits include opportunities to attend and participate in open social events with all levels of TerraCycle’s executive and management teams. Qualifications: We seek individuals who can easily adapt to our fast-paced environment and show the necessary focus to complete projects in a short amount of time while maintaining the initiative and independence to complete other tasks that may not necessarily have rigid guidelines or a set deadline. Applicants must be enrolled in college or graduate school in a business, economics or accounting program. Strong skills in Excel and/or other analytical tools are required. How to Apply: Please send an email with a subject heading ‘Finance Internships’, enclosed with a cover letter, resume, and list of 3 references to: firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
