Position Summary Ciena currently has an exciting Intern / Co-op opening within their Carrier Ethernet Solutions Group for an Electrical Engineer Intern / Co-op student. This Intern position will require working with the FPGA Design and Verification Engineering Team on Ciena’s CESD Product Line. Essential Duties & Responsibilities * Working with a Lead or Principal engineer * Participate in the implementation of FPGA functions for a wide range of telecom hardware products * Manage regressive simulation and automated Lab test executions * Document existing test infrastructures * Create, evaluate and report to Engineering Test Plans * Develop Design Verification Testing automation for existing FPGA designs Skills * It would be an asset to have previous experience with * Scripting Languages * Hardware description languages * Network operation/configuration Desired Characteristics * Self-starter * Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn * Ability to seek out answers and carefully work independently Education / Experience * Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with some experience in lab work * 2nd – 3rd year student, preferably with prior Internship experience.
