The DTSS Social Business Technology group works to maximize the value of interactions among employees and partners through the promotion of knowledge sharing and collaboration tools. We are ideally targeting undergraduate or graduate level students.
This position offers the ability to work in a team oriented environment with top caliber professionals and gain an understanding of Web/Enterprise 2.0, knowledge management, social media, collaboration tools and emerging technologies in the workplace, enterprise search, and related planning, projects and issues.
Responsibilities
• Think creatively and innovatively about existing Disney internal collaboration and search tools and their potential points of integration and enhancement, as well as about possible future applications and services (please note this is not a consumer facing internship)
• Generate ideas and requirements for specific integration and enhancement projects
• Take the lead on executing prototypes/proofs of concept
• Document all phases of projects and final products
• Assess new technologies and Web services and their potential uses, impacts and liabilities within the company
Basic Qualifications
• Self-motivated; able to take ownership of and responsibility for work progress
• Detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to develop Web and mobile applications
• Experience with Web API programming and mashups
• Knowledge of and interest in online social media, collaboration, Web 2.0 technologies
• A DIY hacker mindset with a GTD attitude
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in person and online
• Ability to create detailed project/product documentation, including requirements and technical design documents
• Ability to take complex issues and present them in easy to understand terms for a broad audience
• Ability to work in Glendale, CA
• Ability to commit for one year
