The Marketing and Events Intern will lend support to the Executive Director in the areas of raising awareness and planning/facilitating events. The intern will have the opportunity to be directly involved in supporting and upholding the mission of an organization dedicated educating people about architecture and the built environment. This is not a making coffee and running errands job! You will receive real-world experience in promoting and running events.
Spring Events Include:
• Historic Happy Hours at local bars – February 21 and April 18
• Lunch and Learn Workshops – January 16 and March 20
• Tax Credit Workshops – January 8 and March 5
• Spring Home Tour – April 27-28
• Annual Places in Peril Meeting May 17
Responsibilities:
1. Helping to create flyers, brochures, and other marketing materials for various fundraisers and events
2. Providing support for these events by facilitating ticket sales, flyering, sending out emails and making phone calls to promote these events, and maintaining communications with outside contacts and vendors
3. Providing on-site support during events
4. Coordination and clerical assistance for large scale mailings
5. Writing press releases under direction of executive team
6. Writing copy for website and quarterly newsletter
7. General office support, including administrative and reception duties
Qualifications & Skills:
1. Excellent oral and written communication skills
2. High attention to detail
3. Self-motivated
4. Well-organized and able to multi-task
5. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
6. Graphic design experience a HUGE PLUS
7. Background/Degree in marketing, public relations, communications or development preferred but not required
8. Must have completed at least one year of college
