This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to intern with one of Silicon Valley's most famous and disruptive figures. If you are accepted for this opportunity you will get to spend two weeks job shadowing Dave McClure and getting an understanding of how he invests, supports his over 100 portfolio companies and drives innovation both locally and globally. If you don't know him already: Dave has been geeking out in Silicon Valley for over twenty years, and has worked with companies such as PayPal, Mint, Founders Fund, Facebook, LinkedIn, SlideShare, Twilio, Simply Hired, O'Reilly Media, Intel, & Microsoft. Dave is now a venture capitalist and the founding partner at 500 Startups, headquartered in Mountain View. Dave's passion is helping startups with product & marketing strategy, and he is a vocal & notable industry speaker on lean startup metrics. He has invested in over 100 startup companies including: Mint.com (acquired by Intuit), CreditKarma, Crowdflower, KissMetrics, Mashery, Sendgrid, Simply Hired, SlideShare, TeachStreet, Twilio, and Wildfire Interactive, among others. He also runs conferences and events on technology, marketing, design, & entrepreneurship such as SMASHsummit & WarmGun. Expect to learn more in two weeks then you would in an entire year of business school. The 2 week shadow will take place during either June, July, or August 2011.
