Ashley Chen

Carnegie Mellon University Ambassador

Hi everyone! My name is Ashley Chen.  I am currently a sophomore double majoring in Psychology and Business Administration at Carnegie Mellon University.  I am a proud Northern California native, and spent my high school years being involved in student government and DECA, a national marketing organization for high school students. I also spent two years interning for FireEar, a home and safety monitoring systems company. At Carnegie Mellon, I am currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer in my sorority, Kappa Alpha Theta, and am involved in the Undergraduate Marketing Organization, CMU Student Life, and 1000plus, a community service group that is dedicated to service in the greater Pittsburgh community. In true Pittsburgh fashion, I enjoy watching football and hockey, but I also enjoy spending time outdoors, playing music, and reading.  I am incredibly excited to bring InternMatch to the Carnegie Mellon community, and hope to spread awareness to my peers about the endless opportunities that InternMatch has to offer!

Kevin Roberts

Stanford Ambassador

Kevin Roberts is a social media maven, social theorist, and Stanford student, with a passion for the performing arts, tech entrepreneurship, and social justice.

Kevin grew up in metropolitan Jackson, Mississippi before moving to the Bay Area to pursue an education at Stanford University. A candidate for a bachelor’s degree in Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity with a focus in the institute for diversity in the arts, he is an avid user of social media websites in both his personal and professional life. In fact, he was a member of the launch team at the newly redesigned Delicious.com.

He is steadfast in his support for personal development and has spent the past two years coordinating with the Ernest Houston Johnson Scholars program – an academic advising initiative housed in the Black Community Services Center at Stanford and funded by the Office of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education and the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Affairs. During his years as coordinator, the program has grown from serving 50 students to become an 80 student class. He enjoys helping other students find their passion, improve their strengths, and discover new directions in their life.

He enjoys the vibrancy of the Bay Area, yet he is still a proud Southerner; his childhood growing up on a subsistence farm taught him the value of hard work and a love for the environment. In his free time, he loves looking at cars that he can't yet afford, cooking food that is more comfort than cuisine, and dancing and writing about the good, the bad and the ugly. He occasionally dresses in women's clothing and calls it drag performance; he also makes sounds that some occasionally equate to singing. His life's passion is to combine the arts, social justice, and tech entrepreneurship to help advance a more equal society.
